Cape Town Marathon enjoys gold label status
Now in its second year, the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon will welcome in excess of 20 000 participants from across the world at the weekend.
As the continent’s only IAAF Gold Label-status marathon, the event continues to attract a growing number of elite, professional and amateur runners, with this year’s marathon the pinnacle of a weekend-long festival of running taking place on Sunday.
Olympian and race ambassador Elana van Zyl-Meyer said the event will ensure a gold-label experience.
“Our commitment is to provide runners, supporters and spectators with a truly gold-label experience that’s on a par with the likes of London, Berlin or New York, so this year’s registration and expo centre will be housed at the world-class Century City Conference Centre,” Van Zyl-Meyer said.
The Century City Conference Centre will house the registration and expo on September 21 between 9am and 7pm,and on September 22 between 9am and 5pm.
This year’s expo promises to be a show-stopper, with leading brands, including Asics, Saucony, Totalsports, Sun International, Nestle and Fedhealth, exhibiting.
