Cape Town K9 unit recover stolen goods worth R1m from hijack
Swift action by Cape Town police’s K9 unit led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man and the recovery of a truckload of stolen Nestlé products worth approximately R1 million in Athlone, reports Cape {town} Etc.
According to police spokesperson Aneliswe Manyana, the truck carrying the food products was hijacked just before 6am on Tuesday.
Manyana added that the SAPS K9 unit was alerted by the security company responsible for tracking the track, who traced its location to an address in Mymoena Crescent in Athlone.
‘The members swiftly operationalised the information [and] spotted a vehicle that was returning to the mentioned address,’ said Manyana.
