“Taboo Mentality” a unique, fresh & exceptional hip hop sound

“Taboo Mentality” is a locally grown band currently enjoying 4 tracks play listed on Good Hope FM and 1 track on KFM.

The establishment of this passionate crew was fueled by a mutual love of hip hop among their friends.

They began writing and recording original lyrics over pre-made instrumentals and from these results, it was evident that they were on their way to something profound.

“Taboo Mentality” is an unique, fresh and exceptional hip hop sound, that flows into many different genres across the spectrum.

Introducing a R&B vocalist has enriched their mix, accompanied by intellectual and controversial verses written by the rappers themselves, has propelled the crew to new heights on their musical journey.

Embodying poetry into a new age sound has worked to give the crew an edge along with defining their sound as original yet familiar. In essence “Taboo Mentality” is to evolve the mind to a greater consciousness whereby no matter what your reality is, you have the power to alter it, thus giving birth to a culture that inspires open-mindedness and infinite freedom of expression.

Our ambition is to continue to create music, that the masses can relate to and that will be the spark to an inferno of debate and conversation. While we want to reach a widespread audience, we also want to create music of substance and quality.

Despite the formation of this crew, each member is still an individual artist coming from a different walk of life and each bringing their own unique ideas and vibrant persona to shape a unified ambition as a group, and to blend an authentic sound that everyone will soon come to know as Taboo Mentality.

We are looking forward to dropping an ep in Jan 2018 titled: What Do You Wys and are

currently in pre-production of a music video for our iTunes released track title Vibin.
