ShowMe Cape Town Schools Training on photography & web
Schools from in and around Cape Town joined ShowMe Cape Town for a training session on photography, writing skills and working on the back-end of a real life website.
The training session was hosted at Rococoa in The Palms Lifestyle Center in Woodstock, who kindly donated their venue space to us to give the budding photographers & journalists from Fish Hoek High School, Leap School & Sans Souci Girls High School, an in depth training session.
Not only that, but ShowMe Cape Town even organised for the students to visit Robbie from Resolution Colour upstairs at The Palms Centre for them to see how a professional studio works and they learned all about shooting professional product photography for pharmaceuticals. They even got to take their own portraits in his studio space. This was a real honour! Thank you to Robbie from Resolution Colour for giving us your time.
Thank you too, to Simone from SM Photography who played an active role in sharing with the children some of her top photographic tips and writing skills to help them to create professional posts for their readers online through the ShowMe platform.
See Yourself in Action…
The training was aimed at student photographers and journalists to show them how to use the ShowMe platform; to not only showcase their schools events but to begin to create an online portfolio for their photographs and articles placing them ahead of the pack whenstarting their careers in the competitive media world.
“ShowMe Cape Town decided to host this training session to get to know our listed schools better and to be more involved in the local community” said Claire of ShowMe Cape Town
At the ShowMe training course, learners were shown how to take photographs, prepare them for the site and to upload them onto the back-end of the ShowMe Cape Town website.
The students had tons of fun roaming Rococoa, The Palms Lifestyle Center and spending time at The Resolution Colour Studio at the palms center who specialise in product photography.
The day was packed with useful information and had the students (and teachers) rearing to go and get started with their first ShowMe Cape Town posts….watch this space….
Thank you to all involved and well done to the students of Fish Hoek High School, Sans Souci Girls High and Leap School. What a pleasure you were to spend the morning with.
