The 15 minute spring clean
Or so you think…
When you get a call saying friends are arriving at your home in 10 minutes, there is no time to take the broom over your entire house. When speed cleaning takes place, there is less cleaning and more thinking involved, with no time to wonder about what you are going to wear when you finally get out of your pajamas. That’s why it’s always a good idea to have a few cleaning tricks up your sleeve.
Get set. Go, to the living room!
With rubber gloves on your hands, wipe off the arms, seat and back of the lounge suites. There will be no time for a feather duster, your hands will get the job done faster. The gloves will get the dust off and spread less dust around in the process. Should you have water safe lounge suites, then wet the gloves for better pick up. The last action you need to take is to plump up the chair cushions and throw pillows. Drop down and see if there are any items on the floor or under the couches or cabinets. Quickly grab a microfibre cloth and run it over dusty surfaces like the coffee table or television screen. Neatly stack up books or magazines on the end tables and gather all stray remotes that are lying about.
Get set. Go, the bedroom!
[/h]Dash over to the bedroom and keep your fingers crossed that the visitors don’t step foot inside. Quickly tidy up your duvet cover sets and stash all the dirty laundry under the bed.Remind yourself that you’re doing the washing later in the week anyway. There is no time to fold laundry, there is only time for quick thinking. Don’t forget to open the curtains for natural light to fill up the room.
Get set. Go, the kitchen!
Clearly there is no time to do the pile of dishes that has been waiting endlessly for your return. Doing a quick rinse will not ensure that the dishes are clean and it will only take up more of your time. If you don’t have a dishwasher, the next best thing is the oven. Yes, the oven. Stack up all your dishes and hide them away in the meantime. Then lastly, wipe off the table tops and voila!
