Plattekloof Watch welcomes donation
The Plattekloof, Welgelegen and Panorama Neighborhood Watch (PWP NHW) has welcomed a donation of safety equipment from ADT Security. The donation of a gazebo, reflective vests and pepper spray canisters were handed over to the chairperson and members of the PWP NHW earlier this week.
“With this donation, we reaffirm our support for the people of Plattekloof, Welgelegen and Panorama. As South Africa’s largest private security company, we consider it an honor to work with them in their efforts to protect their members and to keep crime out of the area,” said Verena Hulme, ADT’s District Manager for Cape Town North.

“The PWP NHW covers an area stretching from Bosmansdam Road and the N1 Bridge to Giel Basson Road and Hannes Louw Drive. We have a number of active patrollers that patrol during the day and are continually growing in numbers,” said the Watch’s chairperson, Elaine du Plessis.
The PWP NHW is a non-profit origination and relies on funding from corporate companies and the general public.
“This donation helps us to be more visible in our areas and creates awareness. Our main area of concern is the borders of the Tygerberg Nature Reserve and other hot spots such as the park opposite De Kelders known to our patrollers as “Miami” and at the end of Olienhout Road by the duck pond,” said Du Plessis.
She urged residents of the area to join the PWP NHW and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the Watch or to the police.
