Buying a gift for the person who has everything
We all know that one person who has everything they could possibly need or want. They see something they’d like and they make a plan to own it as soon as possible.
This is the kind of person who skips the shops and goes directly to ordering online.
And when they have a birthday coming up, it can be awful for those trying to buy gifts. What could you possibly buy the person who has everything? Well, here are some ideas.
Get sentimental
If you and the person have a close personal relationship, this could be the best option. Think about your history. How did you first meet? Was there something special about that moment? What was the best time you ever had together? Was there something distinctive you can draw inspiration from?
If you’ve been in each other’s lives for many years, you could dig up some old photos and put together an album. It’s an inexpensive and sentimental gift you can be certain they’ll appreciate. Alternatively, you could take them back to a place that has great memories for the both of you.
Getting (or making) them a sentimental gift is a priceless way of letting them know how much you care. They’ll definitely appreciate it.
Pick a classic
If you’re not particularly close to the person, like a colleague, then don’t think about it too hard. They aren’t expecting the most personal gift from you. Make an effort to find out what they like. What are their favourite flowers? Do they drink wine and if so, red or white? Even a box of really nice chocolates will go down well.
You don’t need to worry too much. You can even share the cost of the gift with someone else so you can spend a little more. A great group gift idea, that’s always a winner, is a nice gift basket filled with yummy goodies.
Let them decide
Gift vouchers aren’t the most thoughtful gift but they’re a good choice when you’ve run out of options. Many people enjoy having the freedom to choose what they want. It means they can shop without spending a cent; and who doesn’t enjoy that? It also means they’ll definitely enjoy what they receive. Which means they won’t have to try return a gift using the Consumer Protection Act.
Of course, only use this option if you’re willing to spend a decent amount of money because they will see the number. And, obviously, this is not the kind of gift you should get a romantic partner, they’ll be expecting something a little more personal from you.
