Add fitness fun to your weekend
We all live incredible fast-paced and busy lives these days. Sometimes it can become difficult to find time for things like working out.
During the week you just want to relax after work and waking up early for gym seems like a good idea until your alarm clock goes off. And, of course, the weekends are meant to be our time and we really want to enjoy them.
So, how do we add a little fitness into our lives without giving up our only free time? Well, you turn exercise into a fun weekend activity.
Start a sport – Whether you’re interested in team sports or want just want to go down to the local tennis courts, starting a sport is both fun and exciting. Get some friends together and organise to get active. Getting a little competitive can make all the difference. One you’ve finished those rugby training drills you’ll feel the effect.
Take a dance class – Don’t roll your eyes. These can be incredibly fun. You don’t have to take one of those aerobics/dance gym classes. You could take a Salsa dance class with your partner. Or, if you’d prefer to do it alone, you could learn some hip hop moves at your local studio. Dancing is great way to get fit while having a little fun. The best part? An hour is long enough to get a real workout, which leaves the rest of the day for you to take advantage of.
Have a picnic… on top of a mountain – Getting up at 5 am to hike up a mountain may not seem like something you want to do on your day off. However, once you’re looking at that serene landscape from high atop a mountain while eating a delicious picnic, it will seem worth it. Take the family or some friends and make a morning of it.
Explore your city on foot – Take a Saturday and dedicate it to discovering your city. Start in the morning and grab your first cup of coffee on the go. Stop to look at all the features of your home town and truly appreciate where you live. You’ll get that much-needed exercise as well as enjoy a great day out!
It’s important to enjoy your weekends, but it’s also incredibly important to think about your health. These are just a few exciting ways to add a little fitness fun to your weekends.
