Leliebloem gets an Extreme Makeover!
This weekend Crawford in Athlone had volunteers coming from far and wide to dedicate three hours of their time to get involved and give the residential center for 84 children from troubled families a full on Extreme Makeover!
The amount of people that got involved in this amazing project for Leliebloem House was countless! With over 130 volenteers per shift, a huge amount of sponsors as well as big corporates donating materials, the turn out made it very clear that this is going to be an extremely successful project.
As people arrived at the check-in they were sent to different stations. Even though many of the volunteers had no experience in half of the work needed to be done they were keen and ready to learn; be it painting; construction; replacing bedroom and kitchen cupboards; sanding floors; electrical; plumbing; curtaining and blinds; carpenting; gardening; painting the entire interior boundary vibrecrete wall; repairing the tarmac parking area; roof cleaning or guttering. It was an incredible experince and an absoulte blessing to see so many people getting involved.
