Learners Excited about New College, Ballito
Innovatus Dolphin Coast College, situated at the old Anglican Church on the R102 – beside the Umhlali Police Station – held a successful open day last Saturday with prospective students from around the Ilembe district coming to register for the semester, or find out more about the courses on offer.
Innovatus is registered to offer more than 40 programmes to the community and courses include teaching, policing, administration, business management, bookkeeping, accounting, small business financial management, office administration, computer programming, marketing management, public management, human resources, public relations, tourism, hospitality – and many others. Courses are open to students who have their matric and are looking to study further, OR students who have Grade 9 and 10 and who would like to do short courses in admin and computing subjects.
We spoke to several students who were registering with the College and all expressed excitement at the fact that they had found somewhere to study that was right on their door step – and affordable.
Commenting on the opening, Principal at the College Zaa Melaia said “We’re delighted to have received our accreditation from the QCTO and to meet some of the members of the community at our open day. The staff and I are really looking forward to the first semester which begins on 24 February.”
