Tulbagh Hotel, Tulbagh, Witzenberg Valley

Tulbagh Hotel, Tulbagh

The beautiful Tulbagh Hotel is in a traditional Cape Dutch building dating back to 1859. Not only is the architecture very attractive, but the garden, sheltered by a White Karee Tree, is just the place to relax and take in the local atmosphere. Situated in the heart of historic Tulbagh village, the hotel is a 4-star grading and is proud of its cuisine and wine list.

Al fresco dining complements the balmy summer evenings – either out on the patio under the White Karee tree, overlooking the lively and entertaining street, or in the tranquil atmosphere of the secluded courtyard.

The dining area is spacious but cosy with large open fires that warm up chilly winter evenings. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the a-la-carte menu is a celebration of South African flavours and locally sourced seasonal fruits and vegetables.

The hotel’s home farm is the source of much of the fresh produce, and you will sample award-winning cheese from the local manufacturer, Kimilili, as well as organic olives from Waverly Hill Estate. The best of award winning local wines complement the menu.

There is a range of accommodation on offer at the Tulbagh Hotel.
