The house still has original furnishings including wooden floors, doors and windows. Breakfast, included in the package, is served on the patio with mountain views or alongside the warm fireplace in the dining room. Parking is available in front of each unit.

The establishment is close to the centre of town and the power station and therefore ideal for business travelers. It is also the perfect stop over for travelers heading towards Natal, Gauteng or the Kruger National Park. The Amajuba Mountain was a battlefield during the Anglo Boer War and a local attraction. Other activities in the area include 4×4 trails, birding, horse riding, fishing and hiking. Drive through the scenic surroundings or take an exhilarating micro light flight.

Smalkloof Guest House offers 4 beautifully decorated en-suite double rooms. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, DSTV, ceiling fans, under floor heating and linen and towels are provided. Each room has its own private entrance.

From Volksrust take the Standerton road for 3 km. Smalkloof will be on your right.
