Stroll in town along tree-lined streets to see the architecture of bygone eras.

Visit the 154ha Karoo Desert National Botanical Gardens for a magnificent display of fauna and flora from the arid winter rainfall regions of Southern Africa. The gardens are at their best from July to October with the spring flowers and are wheelchair friendly.

Experience a touch of history at Kleinplasie Worcester Museum – the only living display museum, depicting early agricultural practices between the early 1800’s and mid -1940’s. All year round activities show visitors how the pioneers used to live. This museum will be a hit with the kids.

Worcester forms part of the Cape Route 62, the longest wine route in the world, which offers not only award winning wines, but also incredible scenery, ideal for the photographer. See our stunning R62 self-drive route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.

If you already enjoy gliding or think you may like to experience it or even learn how to glide, then visit the Cape Gliding Club at the Worcester Airfields. This voluntary organisation welcomes everyone.

Worcester is also an excellent place to spend some time exploring nearby towns like Robertson, Ashton, Bonnievale and Montagu and you can even drive an excellent day drive from Worcester to De Doorns, Montague (lunch), Ashton, Robertson and back.
