Photos: Witbank Community Embrace ‘ShowMe Your Mo’ Campaign
Hundreds of shoppers and members of the public came out in overwhelming support of the ‘ShowMe Witbank Movember Campaign’ held over three days at the Highveld Mall during the past weekend.
Couples, entire families and even tiny little tots posed for the Camera with a ‘ShowMe Mo’ and in doing so supported the Movember cause – for every photo taken we promised a R2 donation towards the Movember SA Foundation.
Well, we have great news! After three days of intense editing and sorting of an almost endless batch of photographs, ShowMe Witbank duly forked out R2 per photo. But that wasn’t all – hundreds of people that posed with a ‘ShowMe Mo’ also contributed to the cause out of their own will and dropped ‘some change’ into a tip jar on our counter.
We added this amount and reached an odd figure which we rounded of to the highest number and finally reached a grand figure of R3 000!
We also had a competition running for the guy with the best grown moustache and a huge congratulations to Biagio Decina in winning the Reds Hamper!
ShowMe Witbank believes that supporting men’s health is an incredibly worthwhile endeavor and hope it will encourage more initiatives of a similar nature. We’re humbled by the kind nature of our community and all we can say is “Thank You”.
On behalf of all of us here at ShowMe Witbank and all of those who benefit from the initiative, we want to extend a warm and gracious thank you to all of our sponsors (Highveld Mall, De La Madre Party & Event Decor, The Beehive Embroidery, News Cafe, Achievers Restuarant & OK Grocer).
Tackling health issues within our communities is everyone’s responsibility, and without the help of our many generous sponsors, ShowMe Witbank would not have been able to host such a campaign. We’ve found that so many companies and businesses are ready and willing to support our communities by giving abundantly, and that means so much to all of us.
The Movember Foundation challenges men to grow moustaches during Movember (formerly known as November), to spark conversation and raise vital funds for its men’s health programs.
