Volunteers from various NGOs participated in a door to door campaign in the Daleside area, as a starting point, in preparation for a Stop women and children awareness event on 27th November 2015. The awareness event was held at the Daleside Primary School. During the door to door campaign our volunteers provided information on women abuse, as well as services available in the area. Where and what to report and signs and symptoms of abuse were also provided.  The reason for this campaign was the high prevalence of domestic violence, rape and child abuse in the area and the awareness event would hopefully change this. It appears that there are not many “easily accessible” services available to this community.

On 27th the march, with the community and NGOs, took place. At the main event all the participating NGOs had stalls where they distributed pamphlets and provided information to those present. There were over 2000 people at the event.
