Midvaal Business of the Year 2014
The Midvaal Chamber of Commerce business of the year for 2013/14 is a three way tie between Flexilube, BSI Steel and Natures Choice.
The top honours will be split since all three businesses were awarded 18 out of a possible 20 during the judging process.
Their sought after business of the year competition took place on 27 March at the Three Rivers Lodge in Three Rivers.
This state of the art venue and excellent service rendered was appreciated by all the guests.
The winners of the respective categories in the competition were announced at a gala-evening at the Three Rivers Lodge.
The finalists in the category manufacturing were Flexilube, Zeno-Chem, Belloweld, and African Pegmatite. Flexilube won this category now two years in a row and also came overall second in the 2012 competition.
In the category retail, Model Bottle Store & Warehouse, who took top hours in 2012, Meyerton Multisave , 2010 overall winner, Corgi Motors and Meyerton KFC were the finalists. Corgi Motors was the winner.
In the category service delivery VCR, Vaal Vending, Be Smart Car Wash and Andropoint were finalists with Be Smart Car Wash taking top honours.
The category new entrepreneur finalists were Taljaards Taxi’s, Something Beautiful, Ma Dollies Sauces and the CHMCOR Caltex Service Station. CHMCOR was the winner.
In the category Hospitality and Tourism Cancun Spur, Plaaskombuis, the Lord’s Signature Hotel and the Sun One Hotel were finalists. Sun One was the winner.
In the Corporate Category BSI Steel, Group Five Pipe and BHP Billiton were finalists, with BSI Steel winning this category. BSI came third in the 2012 competition.
In the category Health the finalists were Van der Walt Pharmacy, Live Bright Life and Tender Loving Care (TLC). Live Bright Life won.
In the category Education the finalists were Henley High and Preparatory School, the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, Dr. Malan High School and the Destinata School. Henley High took the honours for the second year running.
