The Secret Kitchen is Now Open…sshh, Don’t Tell….
The Secret Spot in Chaka’s Rock has launched their Secret Kitchen…Contender in the Coastal Living Bru “So you think you can Cook” Competition, Markie Eve has taken up the Knives and Wooden Spoons to bring a mystery menu to the surfer’s backpacker establishment each week.
Markie Eve has grown up in the hospitality trade. Branching out from his guesthouse in Zinkwazi Beach, Eve has recently launched his Thursday to Sunday restaurant at local surfer’s haven, The Secret Spot.
Eve, who will be flashing his expertise at the Coastal Living Lifestyle Festival running alongside the Ballito Pro presented by Billabong surfing competition, delights in light, tapas-style eats.
“I love the sociability tapas style foods have,” says Eve. “Our aim is to offer different flavors, different themes each week at The Secret Kitchen.”
The launch menu (on the opening afternoon of the Ballito Pro), included a pure African Traditional style of eating: ‘Shisa-inyama’ (‘Hot Meat’). “I want people to socialize over food – that is what eating should really be about – friends and family coming together to share stories over great tasting food,”
The Secret Kitchen will be open Thursdays to Sundays at the Secret Spot.
