Yeesh for kids, Woodmead, Johannesburg
Yeesh for kids is a specially designed upmarket play environment for children. Child psychologist, Dr Sandy Gilchrist, made it her mission to put together an excellent developmental experience for the kids, which is bags of fun, as well as a good place for the parents to relax and enjoy the experience too.
For the kids
The giant two level structure for four to twelve year olds lends itself to physical exertion where the children are challenging and stretching their developmental skills. The layout has been thoroughly worked out to enhance their motor skills, social skills, spatial awareness and confidence levels. There is also a mini version of the large structure for toddlers to explore. There are slides, trampolines, jumping castle and soft play obstacles to keep the children busy for a long time.
The Paint Pot is a corner where all aged children can choose a piece of pottery to paint and be creative. The pottery is varnished and dried and ready to take home the same day. There are also Yeesh! cartoon t-shirts to paint. There are stencils to help you design your own too. Children can also do sand art which is fun and helps them develop the skill of identifying colours and putting the coloured sand into different shapes. Each area is supervised by a trained child-minder – giving you the time to relax and have some time-out!
For the adults
While your child is happy and well cared for, you can take a break in the upmarket coffee shop which serves up freshly ground coffee and a delectable range of freshly baked cakes, muffins, and scones and also have snack meals – toasted sandwiches, quiches, hot dogs.
