Wild Coast Pondo Walk, Port St Johns, Eastern Cape

The Pondo people of the Wild Coast, Eastern CapeThis 5-day slackpacking trail is another of the Wild Coast’s spectacular trails that allows guests to experience all that the region has to offer. The terrain is mildly strenuous, but the beauty of it makes up for this as hikers traverse through indigenous forests, across rugged clifftops and above towering waterfalls.

This trail offers an intimate experience with a particularly beautiful area of the Wild Coast, as overnight accommodation is at one place, the Mbotyi River lodge, and hikers hike out daily along different trails with a local guide. As is custom in the Wild Coast, the guides are supremely friendly, and will be particularly helpful when it comes to introducing hikers to the natives of the Pondo villages – an unforgettable cultural experience!

Enjoy spectacular natural scenery, river crossings, waterfalls, forest walks, beach meanders and swims in the Indian Ocean on this trail that combines the best of the Wild Coast to give you one of the best slackpacking experiences you’re likely to have. Trail info
