Velskoendraai Farmer’s Market & Restaurant, Clanwilliam
Breakfasts and lunches, local fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh bread daily, chutneys, homemade jams, cookies and rusks, a variety of Rooibos tea products and handmade products and gifts all contribute to Velskoendraai Farmer’s Market becoming as popular with visitors as it is with locals.
The enclosed stoep overlooks the orange orchards, which are laden with fruit in season and are the source of the many pockets sold. Potatoes, watermelons, naartjies, musk melons, butternuts, tomatoes and onions are all sold in season.
While you are browsing for padkos or eating a hearty breakfast, cakes or lunch, there is a safe play area for the kids with swings and some farm animals.
Velskoendraai is on the Twee Riviere Farm. If you take the Clanwilliam off-ramp from the N7, go towards Clanwilliam and just over the Olifants River bridge, you will see the Twee Riviere Farm. Continue for 6km to reach the farm stall.
