Rietvallei Wine Estate, Robertson Wine Route, Western Cape
Rietvallei Wine Estate is one of the oldest wine farms in the Robertson Valley. The farm was purchased by Alewyn Burger in 1864 and has passed down through the family to the 5th generation owners, Johnny and his son Kobus. A Muscadel vineyard was planted over 100 years ago and is today the oldest in South Africa. The Muscadel won “best Wine” at the Robertson Wine Show in 1968.
Since then the Rietvallei wines have racked up many awards – gold at the International Wine and Spirits Competetition in the UK for the Sauvignon Blanc and numerous medals at Veritas and Michelangelo International Wine Awards. A number of the wines were named “Best Value for Money” by Wine Magazine in 2011.
Rietvallei caters for weddings and functions in a beautiful setting.
The spacious venue area (approximately 65 x 40m) is surrounded by vineyards with a breathtaking view of the Langeberg mountains. Spacious and modern kitchen facilities are available.
