Mount Edgecombe Country Club, Umhlanga Rocks, KwaZulu-Natal
Mount Edgecombe Country Club is located in the rolling hills of the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, inland of Umhlanga Rocks in an eco-sensitive residential estate. The club has two championship courses – Mount Edgecombe One and Two. Both courses have their own clubhouse.
The No.1 course (formerly the Huletts Country Club) is the older and generally regarded as the better of the two. Redesigned by Hugh Baiocchi to USGA standards, the parklands layout is played along pleasant tree-lined fairways, peppered with plenty of water hazards to be avoided. Large, multi-tiered greens, will require your approach play to be accurate and your putter “hot”, for a good score.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends. Must book in advance.
Directions: Take the N2 highway north from Durban, direction Stanger. After approx 20 km take the Mt Edgecombe / Phoenix exit. Turn left and follow signposts to golf.
