Mossel Bay Golf Course, Garden Route, Western Cape
Mossel Bay Golf Club is situated atop the spectacular seaside cliffs of the Garden Route in the popular resort town of Mossel Bay. Magnificent sea views are visible from every hole on this recently remodelled and upgraded golf course.
Obviously the location on a peninsula jutting out into the Indian Ocean makes wind one of the major obstacles on this links course. However, the spectacular views will make up for that and there are parts of the course with dense vegetation for some relief should the wind be up.
The greens and fairways present fair challenges but the excellent par 3 4th hole on the front nine, the short 12th hole with sweeping views of the sea and the “blind” 18th par 4 are favourites. The clubhouse facilities are all one could ask for and golf carts, a driving range, golf club hire and pull trolleys are available. But most important is that “our research proved to us that golfers perceive overall friendliness, as important as beautiful views, challenging but fair greens and fairways, and 5 star facilities. When we say friendly we mean way more than just a nice smile or a hearty greeting”.
