Horse Trails, Lydenburg, Mpumalanga
The Heartland Equestrian Centre just outside of Lydenburg offers horse trails as well as riding lessons, short out-rides, pony camps for children and endurance riding courses for more experienced riders wanting to take part in the sport of endurance riding.
For tourists, Heartland offers trails through the spectacular countryside between Lydenburg and Orighstad in the Mpumalanga ‘Highland Meander’. Beginners who have never sat on a horse before can be accommodated on calm and well trained trail horses, and there is the option of lessons first for those staying in the area for a few days.
Children can be accommodated on ponies, and pony rides are available for the little ones.
