Hilton Railway Museum, KwaZulu-Natal, Natal Midlands
The Hilton Railway Museum situated in the Natal Midlands, allows visitors a chance to view railway memorabilia from a time when the Hilton station was the main link between Durban and Johannesburg. The railway line itself is over 125 years old and the museum aims to revive the old line eventually, with daily trips through the scenic Midlands to Howick falls.
The museum houses silverware, an old steam locomotive lamp, and a train token system that was once used many years ago, among other interesting items.
Opening hours for the museum are 08h00 – 16h00 Monday to Friday: 08h30 – 15h00 on Saturaday and 08h00 to 18h00 on Sunday: Closed on Public Holidays. For more information call: 033 343 2540 or 082 653 0365.
