Hiking the Postberg Wildflower Trail, West Coast
The Postberg section of the West Coast National Park is renowned for its annual wildflower display in August and September. Hiking the Postberg Wildflower Trail is simply the best way to experience the magnificent phenomenon of the flower season.
Length: 24km, 2 days, circular route.
The route leads you to some magnificent views of the Langebaan lagoon on the north-eastern side of Postberg and the flower fields on the south-eastern side. The overnight stop at Plankiesbaai is also a highlight for it’s doorstep onto the Atlantic Ocean. Trail info
Getting there: the Postberg Reserve forms part of the West Coast National Park. From Cape Town, follow the R27 along the West Coast towards Langebaan. The entrance to the park is on your left hand side, shortly before you reach the town of Langebaan.
