Gilroy Beers, Ngwenya Village, Muldersdrift, West Rand

Gilroy Beers, Ngwenya Village, MuldersdriftIf you are a beer lover, a trip to Gilroy Beers at Ngwenya Village is not to be missed.

This spot has won acclaim as the best Al Fresco Restaurant and matches its superb hand-crafted beer to fine food. Boasting BIG – big beer, big helpings and big sports TV – here you are free to yell for your team, raise your glass (many times), chat with your mates and just have a good time.

If you would like to enjoy the live entertainment, then Saturdays and Sundays are the time to go. Most Fridays offer Mixed Nuts and an open mic evening for budding musicians.

And at Gilroy Brewery, only the best natural ingredients are used – fine hops, malt and brewer’s yeast.  The Gilroy brewing process is characterized by no filtration, no artificial carbonation and no preservatives.

The art of making fine natural beer is shared during the fun and informative tour of the brewery, often conducted by the brew master, Steve Gilroy, himself. Hear Steve’s humorous look at the myths, legends and secrets of beer whilst enjoying all four of Gilroy’s Award Winning Beers.

Gilroy’s Country Brewery is also the home to the Joburg Worthogs, South Africa’s own world acclaimed Home Brewer’s Club. So, for all the guys and gals who want to brew but don’t know who to ask, go and meet the Worthogs: they have the ingredients, equipment and the knowledge to get you started. A nicer bunch you will never meet.
