Fly De Aar, De Aar, Northern Cape Karoo
Fancy seeing the expanse of the Karoo from the air? The clear, unpolluted air of the Karoo is perfect for paragliding and the ‘view from up there’ is unparralelled!
Fly De Aar – the only SAHPA registered paragliding school in the region can teach you to glide on the thermals and issue the licence required to fly legally in South Africa.
Fly De Aar offers several courses from March to December – from a 10 day basic course to add-on advanced courses. The courses are highly affordable (particularly if you are coming from overseas) and include accommodation at Potty’s B&B – owned by Fly De Aar. Minimum age is 14.
If you are only passing through for the day, Fly De Aar also offers tandem flights.
Getting there: De Aar is situated just off the N10 between Britstown and Hanover. From Cape Town take the N1 to Three Sisters, then the N12 to Britstown. Turn right on to the N10 just after Britstown.
