Didima Resort, Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal
Didima Resort is situated near Cathedral Peak in the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park in KwaZulu-Natal. This unique resort is themed around the local San rock-art caves. The luxury chalets are designed to resemble the caves and to blend into the natural surroundings with amazing views of the Drakenberg peaks.
There are numerous hikes in the area and a highlight would be an overnight stay in one of the caves deep within the Cathedral Peak Nature Reserve. A visit to the nearby Rock Art Museum will give you insight into the culture of the San people who roamed the area hundreds of years ago.
Although the resort has taken maximum advantage of the beautiful natural setting and the San heritage, the facilities do not lack for luxuries – chalets are fully equipped and have satellite TV and a microwave. The facilities include a conference centre, the Eland’s View restaurant, the Eland’s View Sports Bar and a curio shop. The venue is ideal for weddings.
For the more active there are tennis courts and a swimming pool with a thatched boma and sun-deck.

Getting there:
• From the south: Pass Estcourt on the right of the N3, take the Winterton/Colenso off-ramp; head for Winterton (22 km); in Winterton, opposite the Engen petrol station, turn left over the railway line; follow the Cathedral Peak/Didima signs.
• From north: Follow the road signs to Bergville; pass Bergville; turn right, 1 km beyond Bergville and follow the Cathedral Peak/Didima signs.
