Beaumont Winery Bot River, Overberg, Western Cape
Situated on a heritage farm, dating back to the 1700s, in the quaint village Bot River, Beaumont Wines is a family run winery that produces a range of quality wines. Since the farm was purchased in the 1970’s, Raoul and Jayne Beaumont have not only restored the region’s oldest wine cellar with its antique machinery and the old water mill, but they are part of the Groenlandberg Conservancy Area and actively protect the 400 hectares of pristine, fynbos-rich mountainside on the farm.
The Jackals and the Bot Rivers flow through the property, and there is an on-going project to clear the riverbanks of alien vegetation. “We have managed to clear three kilometres of river frontage to date, allowing the natural vegetation to re-establish itself and for more water to become available to the environment.
Taste and buy handcrafted, classically styled wines at the cellar, along with delicious homemade produce. Meander through the vineyards on foot or horseback, enjoy the abundant bird life, or take a hike on the fynbos-rich hiking trails of the Green Mountain Eco Route. There’s truly something for everyone!
Beaumont is an ideal venue for any occasion. The natural settings are ideal for wedding photos – celebrate under magnificent gum trees, next to the dam, in the original barrel cellar, or beside the turning watermill. Beaumont Venue brings together breath-taking spaces, award winning wines and delectable food.
The Zest Kitchen, with its black and white checked floors and a constant production of delectable food our kitchen lends itself to a memorable ‘Chefs Table’ dining experience.
Also on offer are cookery classes where we share with you some of the tricks of our trade, which are ideal for a team building exercise or simply for a celebration with a difference.
