The Kruger National Park

Imagine a dedicated preserve for African Wildlife, for Elephant, Lion,  Leopard, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra, Rhino, Hippo, Antelope by the hundreds of thousands, Buffalo in thundering masses… and many more species besides – a Game Reserve the size of Belgium. That is the The Kruger National Park.

The southern section of the Kruger National Park is the original Kruger Park and covers a vast area of the Mpumalanaga Lowveld. This section can be accessed via the following gates in Mpumalanga:

The Crocodile River Gate on the Mozambique Border – via Nelspruit.

The Numbi Gate – via Nelspruit and White River.

The Malelane Gate – via Nelspruit – between Nelspruit and Hectorspruit.

The Paul Kruger Gate – via Nelspruit or Lydenburg to Hazyview.

See the detailed write up on Kruger here and visit ShowMe Nelspruit for information about the area.

And to get an idea of what you might be lucky enough to experience, see Battle at Kruger – (watch to the end!)
