About Montagu

Montagu is a historic little town set in the scenic Langeberg mountains and blessed with an excellent year round climate. Nature is dramatically evident from the moment you enter the town through the Cogmanskloof Pass and you can see it is hardly surprising as to why Montagu is a magnet for climbers. The tumultuous geographic upheaval that created the mountains has created a passage from 3km down in the earth spewing forth hot, clear, clean, mineralised water for which Montagu is famous.
