Magudu

Magudu is a small town situated conveniently between the Ithala Game Reserve, the Pongolapoort Nature Reserve and the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve. The town has little attraction for the traveler other than the fact that it lies on top of a hill overlooking the rolling green hills of Zululand. It was the home of the Zulu Rain Queen, Magudu.

Many private game farms, hunting lodges and safari guides operate in the area and a number of the landowners have taken down their fences in the interests of the free movement of game.

The village is on the R66 between Nongoma and Pongola.
