Camperdown

Camperdown, midway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, in the Natal Midlands, is a scenic town close to the Natal Lion Park and Tala Game Reserve. Camperdown falls within the area known as the “Midlands Mistbelt’ – one of the only areas in which the Karkloof butterfly is found. An array of strawberry and fruit farms offer visitors a chance to stroll through their fields and enjoy these succulent delights. The town also falls within the Valley of a 1000 Hills, one of the most beautiful parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Take a drive along the 1000 Hills Experience Route where you will find some excellent arts and crafts, galleries and cultural villages. The Msunduzi River (of the famous Duzi Canoe Marathon) and the Nagle Dam are also nearby and the Karkloof Nature Reserve is just the other side of Pietermaritzburg, a mere 17km away.
