Ramsgate

Ramsgate is an idyllic village on the Hibiscus Coast, part of the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal about 4 km south of Margate and just north of Southbroom. It is situated on the Mbizana Lagoon, an ideal spot for windsurfing. The beautiful beach with its park-like setting, huge trees and great picnic facilities is a magnet for family holiday makers. The beaches are manned by lifesavers seven days a week and shark nets ensure your safety.

The main beach has a tidal pool known as the Noel Quarry Pool and Ski Boat Bay is a popular launch spot for ski-boats, jet-skis and pleasure boats which can be hired. There are a number of really good surf and rock fishing spots.

The village has escaped industrialization but Margate and Port Shepstone are a short drive away should you need anything. There are good restaurants in the village as well as art galleries and craft shops and a wide range of sporting facilities.

Because of its central location on the South Coast there are excellent golf courses, some of the best dive sites in the world and numerous nature reserves all within easy reach. You can enjoy the tranquillity of Ramsgate but still be close to the activity in the larger towns nearby.
