Villiers is a small town situated at the very top of the Northern Free State, east of the Vaal Dam and on the border with Mpumalanga, and on the banks of the Vaal River. Villiers features some beautiful old sandstone buildings as despite its small size today, it was once an important transport stop for wagons crossing the Vaal River.
