Canon Rocks

Just on the boundary of the coastal section of the Addo Elephant National Park is the little Eastern Cape gem of Cannon Rocks. As is the case on this magnificent stretch of South African coastline, the village is home to few residents, but plenty of tourists frequent here as it is primarily a resort town. The shipwreck on the beach here makes for an interesting attraction, but the greatest attraction is the warm Indian Ocean, in which you can swim, fish, surf, kitesurf and enjoy yourself.

Getting there: from Port Elizbeth, take the N2 going towards Grahamstown. Turn onto the Settlers Way road and continue to Alexandria. Here, take the road going to Boknes Strand, from where you will follow signs to Cannon Rocks.
