Excellent running weather during Goldi 3-in-1 Race
STANDERTON – The annual Goldi 3-in-1 Race took place on Saturday, 21 March. In the 42,2 km race Maseko Ntuthuko finished first in a time of 2.24:49, followed by Sun Motheshipa (2.30:29) and Bazil Masibuko (2.31:42). The first woman home was Petro Steenkamp (3.24:39), the first veteran man was Bengani Ngobese (2.45:15), the first veteran woman was Petro Steenkamp who also won the women’s division.
Jan van Vreden (3.11:14) was the first of the master’s home with Wessel Bhayi (4.04:08) and Patricia Shaw (4.33:39) as the first man and woman grand masters.
Amos Thanjekwayo won the 21,1 km race in a time of 1.08:32 and Winili Mnisi was the first woman home in a time of 1.31:30. The 10 km race was won by Doctor Zwane (31:52) and Phumzile Maphalala was the first woman home (47:11).
The Standerton Marathon Club championship results for the 42,2 km race are Themba Selepe in first place with a time of 3.17:14. He was followed by Kenny Swart (3.26:50), Richard Sangweni (3.34:05), Sipho Mngomezulu (3.35:03), Lukas van der Merwe (3.39:01), Sandile Mazibuko (3.55:37), David Tsotetsi (3.55:38), T Nsibanda (3.55:41), Kobus Green (4.10:39), Anton Hall (4.16:52), May Mnisi (4.26:59), Thomas Motaung (4.27:46), Attie Claassens (4.29:20), Joseph Khumalo (4.30:40) and Joshua Moloi (4.30:55).
