Afrisam and Môrester, continuing to help children
AfriSam and Môrester Childrens’ Home held a get together event where the children of Môrester had the opportunity to view their new bus that AfriSam sponsored them during this event.
Dorette Nel was there to take in the excitement!
On arrival at the Waterval Mines REC club, guest were served with tea and coffee whilst awaiting the arrival of the delegates. The main function area was decorated in bright yellow and green table settings which added to this very auspicious occasion.
At each table setting there was a little gift with candy boxes for everyone with a very special message on each : “The chocolate is all the good and sweet times. He hard candy is all the hard times. The chewy candy is all the tough times. Thank you very much Afrisam and Morester”
Madeline de Beer, spokeperson for Môrester, welcomed all guests and delegates and assured everyone that this was by far one of the most special and biggest occasions in the history of Morester.
Therafter, the opening was conducted by Pastor Darius.
Rustenburg MMC Mr Lucky Kgaladi welcomed the guests and after which there was a message from Tsholo Diale – AfriSam CSR Manager. He said that AfriSam stands true to their motto, which is Building Our Future Together. Not only for the nation with their cement that they manufacture but also for the community, as children are our future. It gives Afrisam great pleasure to donate the much needed Toyota Mini Bus Quantum
Antoinette Christian, the housemother of Môrester, made a very emotional speech, thanking Afrisam and assuring everyone that there are many tough times, but it is all worth it in the end.
Then it was time for the Môrester children to entertain the guests. And boy did they entertain! They had practiced for weeks on their dance movements and these little people are definitely stars in the making.
A keynote address was then made by Honorable Ms Lisa Becker, of the Magistrates Court in Thlabane.
It was time for the minibus hand-over and everyone preceded outside where the Regional Director of Afrisam handed the keys to Helen Lotz and the ribbon was cut. There was much joy and the children were ecstatic.
Helen Lotz expressed a vote of thanks to all involved and especially to Afrisam.
After all the happy and joyous moments a tasty breakfast was served which was also sponsored by Afrisam.
It was now time to depart for a visit to the Môrester Home. Even the little ones that remained at home were so happy when their new minibus arrived! We were invited to interact with children and all of them expressed their joy and it was heartwarming to see that these little ones appreciate even the slightest visit and it was clear to see that they were happy to be living there and all they really want is love. To end the day on an even happier note, the director from Afrisam handed each child a backpack filled with toys and snacks.
It was truly an awesome experience and makes one appreciate what we so often take for granted. Thank you once again, Afrisam for making their wish come true.
