Sophistication at High Tea
Rustenburg – Last Saturday the who’s who of the North-West descended on Rustenburg for the annual Phenomenal Women’s Day which was held at Hedgehog’s Nest (3rd of August). And the entire day can be captured in one word… Elegance!
Elegance is defined as, “A synonym for beautiful… A standard of tastefulness; particularly in the area of visual design and decoration. Elegant things exhibit refined grace and dignified propriety.”
Lianel Swartz and her team proved once again why their designs are the pinnacle of elegance and refinement, showcasing the latest range of exquisite garments, designed for all shapes and forms. Following a superb exhibition of indulgences for women, the much anticipated high-tea and fashion show started with exerts from the ever popular Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber’s musical: “The Phantom of the Opera”.
The charming Arina de Witt stood as the host for the day while André Schwartz performed songs from the Phantom of Opera musicals.
To kick-start the fashion show, Lianel Swartz Couture showcased their versatile “phenomenal woman wrap dresses” which can be wrapped in at least ten different times to suit any occasion. As Lianel knows bets – each lady must have a “little black dress” in her closet; and therefore her second range was the elegant classic little black numbers fit for cocktail evenings with friends.
While my personal favourite were the wrap dresses, all eyes were in awe as the striking models took on to the catwalk to model her breath-taking bridal gowns.
Lianel’s new range is definitely a hit especially as it caters for every woman and every occasion; from the girl going to her matric dance to a lady going on a first date and a bride getting married.
To add to this already remarkable event, the vibrant Gerda Horn was crowned the Phenomenal Woman of 2013. Apart from being a well-qualified pastoral councillor, Gerda is a highly trained nurse with a miraculous talent to treat wounds.
Well done to Mrs Nina Peens, Yarmila Tellinger, Natalie van den Bergh and Delani Hollhumer for coming this far as finalists! And thank you also to the panel of judges.
Congratulations to all the winners of the day!
This was indeed a day filled with everything a woman desires…a day to celebrating us, the phenomenal women that we are.
