Power failure affecting Monavoni, Heuwelsig and Celtisdal
The City of Tshwane technicians have been hard at work since last night to repair a faulty cable that is affecting electricity supply to Monavoni, Heuwelsig and Celtisdal.
So far, the team has managed to restore electricity supply to the Monavoni and Heuwelsig areas while Celtisdal is still without power due to overload in the network. Residents in Monavoni and Heuwelsig are informed of sporadic power supply interruptions as electricians are working on reinstating power in Celtisdal.
Repairs are expected to be completed and normalised by noon today and power will then be fully restored.
However, the city urges residents to minimise electricity consumption by switching off non-essential appliances.
The City apologises for the inconvenience caused to the affected residents.
Residents should also treat all network points as live at all times.
Customers affected by power failures are urged to report by texting the word “power” followed by your account number to 44676. Alternatively report a power failure through our customer care call centre on 012 358 9999 (choose electricity option), visit www.tshwane.gov.za and follow the Report Power Failure link or visit various regional walk-in centres.
