Everyone safe after Cableway breakdown
“Our policies are vital to ensure the safety of our customers,” said Iain Dunn, general manager of the Cableway. A decision was made to stop the cable cars.
He said mountain rescue teams were called to transport people down the mountain. “A helicopter is also busy airlifting people down the mountain.”
Around 15 people were stuck in three gondolas when Iain Gunn ordered the system to shut down.
He then arranged for the rescue squad to be called.
The squad ascended the cableway towers, reached the gondolas and put the occupants into safety harnesses.
