The Street Store
The Street Store
The first pop-up street store “opened” its doors on Sunday the 16th of November at the Railway Café in Centurion. The launch of this great global initiative was made possible by the Loved Ones of God and the Railways Community Soup Kitchen.
Homeless people from the community had the chance to shop, enjoy the local music, play soccer, were treated to a nice Sunday lunch and all of this at no expense. Smiles and true appreciation could be seen on all the recipients’ faces. The real hero is the community whose donations made it all possible for the volunteers and sponsors to host a successful event.
The next Street Shop will only be in held 3 months’ time but the Soup Kitchen will remain, as it has, to give food to the needy every Sunday.

Thank you to all the Samaritans and may we strive for a better future for our beautiful rainbow nation! As Maya Angelou said: “When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
