Sisters with Blisters Protest Walk 2015 – ”Heel to Heal”

There is no excuse for abuse against women and children! This was the profound statement and the reason that over 5000 people attended the protest walk, at Steyn City Lifestyle Resort in Dainfern, this past Saturday. The 1st for Women Sisters with Blisters walk marked the start of the 16 Days of Activism and celebrating the 10th anniversary for the campaign.
The 10 000 heels were joined by paws from our four legged canine friends. Together they left their marks and imprints of support for this great cause. This Walk, is still after 10 years, a much needed platform where people can stand up and say; “Enough is enough!”
Sisters with Blisters is about creating awareness for this serious social issue. It gives men, women and children alike the courage to come and speak out to tell their stories.
I had the privilege to interview two phenomenal women on the day; Robyn Farrell (Managing Director of 1st for women) and Zelda la Grange (Executive Personal Assistant and Spokesperson for the Nelson Mandela Foundation).
The day ended on a high note for one of the participants, Nicola Leahy, who drove away with a brand new white Kia Picanto!
