“Onvertelde Stories van Afrikaans” Book Launch
On Thursday the 25th of October, the Graffiti bookstore in the Lynnwood Bridge shopping complex launched Ilse Salzwedel’s new book, “Onvertelde Stories van Afrikaans”.
Salzwedel is a popular freelance journalist whose stories have been published in some of South Africa’s top magazines. Among other achievements, Salzwedel received the ATKVeertjie for Magazine feature of the year from ATKV in 2007. She also received the H.B. Thom award for exceptional contribution to Afrikaans journalism in 2007 and the PICA award for Article of the year (for Die Swart Afrikaners van Onverwacht) from the Magazine Publishers Association of South Africa in 2008.
Entrance to the event was R40, and wine & light snacks was served.
RSG-presenter Suzanne Paxton held a conversation with Salzwedel about “Onvertelde Stories van Afrikaans”, a book about the different communities and cultures in South Africa that all speaks Afrikaans, after which a quick question and answer session was held.
