What genuinely lovely people they all are, conversing with the rest of us over drinks about nothing in particular – Jacaranda FM won the station of the year award at the 6th annual MTN Radio Awards –so the good energy floating around in the room was celebratory.
The team work makes the dream work.”
BP Jacaranda Day 2015 hosted close to 20 000 people at Supersport Park on the 23rd of May, and with a listenership of 1.9 million people tuning in, it’s really no surprise they bagged the prize, mostly, we think, because they are extremely interactive with their fans.
“We don’t take for granted the work that we do,” said the Deputy Chief Executive of Kagiso Media, Omar Essack.
Just to make sure he said the right quote, reading from his phone, Kevin Fine, the General Manager of Jacaranda FM summed up the efforts the station of the year’s team put in; “The team work makes the dream work.”
Have you listened to Jacaranda 94.2 lately -ah – plenty is new, young, vibrant and integrated.
On that integrated note, it is worthwhile to check out their Come Dine with my Culture challenge, where they encourage South African’s to invite a friend from a different culture for dinner.
If you visit their website, you’ll get to see Rian van Heerden from The Complimentary Breakfast dine with the hilarious columnist Ndumiso Ngcobo.
