Easter Sunday at Ludwigs Roses Farm
A little girl once said that earth laughs in flowers and if that is true then mother earth must be the happiest on this part of the world in Wallmannstahl, north of Pretoria.

The rose scented morning air, people bending over for a sniff, butterflies and chirping birds attracted by the rose fragrances, children playfully hunting for pine cones in exchange for Easter eggs; some are painting, some are swinging and the older folks are having a big family breakfast around bursts of colourful roses, earth is pleased.
Over 1000 kinds of roses..
“I’m stuck in the roses,” squeaked Hannelori trying to pick a pine cone hidden in between rose beds. “I like orange roses the most but I don’t have a favourite kind of rose, why choose?” said Ludwig Taschner, the founder of Ludwigs Roses Farm who has been growing roses since he was a child in Germany.
Forty years ago, Ludwig decided that he wanted to grow his own roses and bought this farm that has been transformed into a haven with over 1000 kinds of roses, a gift shop and a spiced coffee restaurant that hosts fun events.
Sundays Easter egg hunt was peaceful, here is a gallery of the hunt, the farm and the flowers:
