Big Business Temperament Released by Jacaranda FM Listeners
Standard Bank, GIBS and Jacaranda FM were proud to host their 2nd Business Breakfast which aimed to give aspiring entrepreneurs an opportunity to listen to prominent influencers as they share stories of their journeys to success in business and life.
With tickets that were sold out within weeks of going on sale the breakfast took place this morning at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Tshwane. The Standard Bank GIBS Business breakfast with Jacaranda FM gave listeners an opportunity to spend Friday morning with South African sporting and business legends, Fanie de Villiers, Vusi Thembekwayo and Jenna Clifford respectively.
As guests arrived early on Friday morning the atmosphere was that of anticipation and great expectation. With Fanie de Villiers, an international cricket icon, Vusi Thembekwayo, a world renown motivational speaker and Jenna Clifford, a world renown jewellery designer as speakers, their temperament was justified.
As a successful business woman, Jenna Clifford made it a point to remind everybody that women are on the rise and that businesses with a diverse board are more successful than an all-male board. Jenna’s key focus was integrity and any business requires their team to possess this quality.
Fanie de Villiers did not achieve his success on talent alone. Working outside the parameters is the key and breaking the norm as well as going the extra mile, will perfect any skill and hone talent.
Not only did Vusi Thembekwayo motivate the audience and remind them of the importance of efficiency in a business, he reminded everyone of Nelson Mandela’s vision for the country. Vusi gave a tip to all managers, “to be leaders, you need to have a line of trust and not a line of sight. Line of sight is when you want to be cc’d in all emails and a line of trust is allowing your team to get on with it and find you when they need help”.
“Entrepreneurs and small businesses have a huge role to play as key drivers of economic growth, innovation and employment in South Africa. Standard Bank supports platforms such as these – that provide an opportunity for like-minded people to share inspirational stories, creative ideas, debate challenges and solutions, thereby contributing to the sustainable growth and development of SMEs,” says Ethel Nyembe, Head of Small Enterprise at Standard Bank.
To close of the event Jacaranda FM General Manager, Kevin Fine had this to say, “The business breakfast was amazing and the speakers truly inspiring. All the speakers had something unique that they had to offer and it was all well received. We are happy to have partnered with Standard Bank and GIBS on this event and hope to have a long lasting relationship with them. The aim is to live up to Nelson Mandela’s vision to create a country we are all proud,”
Standard Bank, GIBS and Jacaranda FM achieved their goal of inspiring and encouraging attendees to develop a big business temperament.
