Fishing spots in Plett – The Keurbooms Lagoon and River
The Keurbooms Lagoon is a typical estuarine and river fishing spot. The best time to fish here is on the incoming tide. A favourite haunt of cob and grunter, but other species are caught here too.
Locals fish from the river mouth, right up the river, under the bridge of the N2, up to the boat barrier. Most fishing is done from boats. Boats can be hired and launched from the Plett Angling Club at the Bitou River Bridge. The Poortjies Beach is another launch site and is found at the end of Phitidis Walk off Zenon Street.
This is a really good spot to start a youngster fishing.
