Lunchbox Theatre November 2012 Newsletter
Tshisa Talent Training Programmes for Local Artists
Supported and funded by the National Arts Council and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
A platform for performing artists in the following genres: theatre, music, song, choir, poetry, dance, etc. Once a week we set up a mic and sound system at a different community hall and present individuals and groups from these communities with a chance to showcase their talent on stage and practice towards the Tshisa Talent 2013 Competition.
At the Open Mic sessions these artists register for our training programmes starting in January 2013. Training will focus on professionalism, stage presence, technical skills and collaboration and will empower these artists with ways to develop themselves and their careers.
We are also delighted to announce Zolani Mahola from Freshlyground as the ambassador for Tshisa Talent.
New projects funded by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund
Lunchbox Theatre is thrilled to announce that we have recently received funding from the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund which enables us to grow the organisation further.
This will allow us to create new shows, employ new actors, develop our actor team and further their skills. This funding also enables Lunchbox Theatre to provide more theatre shows to school children as a theatre & educational tool to become more environmentally conscious.
Auditions were held on the 23 October where we discovered 3 additional actors, who will be joining the Lunchbox Theatre team. Thanks to Jungle Theatre Company for their constant support and for standing in as our mentor organisation.
